How are Micro School courses taken?
Character Core Courses
Character Core courses include Science, History, Literature, Health, and Micro Masters Skills. These courses are coach-led Monday–Thursday on a 2-week rotation within their Micro School class. To better understand the rotation see the Micro School calendar on page three of our Scope & Sequence document.
These lessons follow our 4R-ing learning method: research, reason, relate, and record. Students will have the lessons available on the Micro School platform. These lessons are composed of pre-recorded videos, games, activities, readings, and assignments. The lessons are taken on the platform, but the students will also have the opportunity to meet with their group to complete the lessons together.
Academic Core Courses
Academic Core Courses include I Master Math and I Love Language. These courses are taken at the student’s own pace. We will provide a suggested calendar, but the students can complete the lessons at their own speed. Math & LA are designed for 4 days a week, with assessments or review on the 5th day.
These courses will also be accessible through the Micro School platform. Each lesson will provide a pre-recorded lesson video (for math), readings, and activities for your student to complete. You can learn how the courses are formatted with these links:
